Happy Plus Card Experience
After months of contemplating, I finally bought a Happy Plus Card from Jollibee (was supposed to be from Chow King but they ran out of stock, they say). So what is this Happy Plus Card and why I spent PHP 100 on it?
Think of it as a prepaid card and if you have been to Hong Kong, Singapore, and other Asian countries, you would see similar cards with the same functionality. Currently, the card is only usable at the fast food chains of Jollibee such as Jollibee, Red Ribbon, Chow King and Greenwich. Just hover the card at the terminal and you can already pay for your purchase (provided you have enough money in the card).
So why use this card?
- Convenience and looks cool (while doing it )- no need for cash. Just take out your card, swipe and you are done!
- Points System – every PHP 50 purchase earns you 1 point. Not sure if 50 is the minimum to gain a point but I had a purchase of PHP 59 and I was awarded 1.18 points.
- Discounts – Get as much as PHP 50 discount when you order as much as PHP 250 (for Red Ribbon, has to be PHP 500) – Note: these are one time use coupons online.
- Monthly Raffle – Get a chance to win PHP 100,000 monthly (until Dec 2013). Register your card online and you get five raffle points free. Reload your card to get more raffle points.
That’s all! So what do you think? Would you want to use it too? As a loyal patron of Yum w/ Cheese and Chao Fan Siomai, this will be a very handy tool for me. Hopefully, I will not lose the card and I also hope that other fast food chains will follow suit… or even better, we have a unified card that we can use to pay for transpo, food and supermarkets. Other countries have done it so it is possible!
Till next time,
PS: How long does it take for the points to reflect in the system? My purchase hasn’t reflected yet online.
