Kooky & Luscious

Kooky & Luscious

Kooky & Luscious is a place that we usually see when we get off the bus going to work. We did a mini check on it in the past and we saw that aside from offering cakes (as displayed outside), they also offer meals for those who want to dine in so we made a plan to eat lunch here one day. The place has two floors and the dine in area is upstairs. You can contact your waiters by using a buzzer that’s installed on all the tables.

It was Ash Wednesday so we opted not to have pork but we had chicken instead. These were our orders.

Kooky & Luscious Spinach and Cheese Pate

Kooky & Luscious Spinach and Cheese Pate – PHP 120

For appetizers, we ordered Spinach and Cheese Pate. It comes with bread which will you use to dip into the pate. Delicious! is what I can say about it.

Pâté is a mixture of cooked ground meat and fat minced into a spreadable paste. (Wikipedia)

Kooky & Luscious BBQ Chicken and Mango Salad Kooky & Luscious BBQ Chicken and Mango Salad

We also ordered salad and the waiter offered to divide it into two servings (the picture is only 1/2 of the serving). The mango was sweet, the chopped BBQ chicken was also good but the dressing they used had a bitter and sour taste which was distracting. However, the sweet mango helped a lot in countering that taste.

Kooky & Luscious Fish Curry

Kooky & Luscious Fish Curry – PHP 180

When I was given choices on the rice to go with the curry (plain rice, garlic rice and brown rice pilaf), I picked the brown rice pilaf just to try it out. The fish curry (coconut) comes with potatoes which I did not touch. The curry sauce did well in giving flavor to the bland and very chewable brown rice.

Kooky & Luscious Stuffed Chicken

The stuffed chicken comes with sticky rice and other ingredients I couldn’t remember. It is already a bit salty but you can add some soy sauce to add more flavor.

We enjoyed our lunch at Kooky & Luscious even though we were not able to try out their desserts. Well, that just gives us a reason to come back.

Till next time,

  1. looks good! i’ll try this out in June!

  2. I think I’ve seen this establishment before… though I’m not quite sure. Would love to try this out though :)

  3. I always thought this was just a dessert place, which is why I never considered it for lunch. Good to know they serve real food as well! :)

    • That was our first impression too but when we went it to browse at the desserts, the waiter offered us their menu :)

So what can you say? :)
