Lucky’s Burger and Bar
Looks like I found another go-to place for my burger cravings.
As part of my ongoing goal to try all the restaurants near our office, Lucky’s Burger and Bar was next on our list. From the name, I was ready to eat burgers and upon getting the menu, I skipped all the other sections and simply went to burgers. Their menu had a lot of items aside from burgers such as rice meals, appetizers, salads and finger food.
Just a little history – this used to be called The Burgery.
So what did we have that night?
We started off with their crispy taco basket as our appetizer. All the ingredients of taco dumped on a tortilla basket floating on top of cheddar cheese. It looked small but as we started combining all the ingredients together, it was a bit filling but it leaves room for the main dishes.
It isn’t your simple burger lathered with bbq sauce but so much more. It had cheese, bacon and even two big onion rings. In case you won’t notice it, jalapeno is listed as one of the ingredients so prepare a glass of water if you are like me with a weak spicy tolerance.
It’s always a good thing to try the dishes that was named after the restaurant because that will surely be one of their specialties. So here I am trying out the lucky burger or based from the ingredients, we can call it as the bacon cheeseburger with oooozzzing cheese.
So how were the burgers? They were very good! The patties were soft and smoking when I took my first bite. Despite the many ingredients that came with the burger, it was still the patty and the cheese that stood out. Delicious!
Update: We have returned and added more to our “have tried list” –
although they seem to have changed their menu several times already so some items might not be in the menu anymore.
Update 2 : My apologies! The reason why we can’t find them in the menu anymore because they weren’t supposed to be there anyway. The items were actually dishes from Main Street and I have confused them with Lucky’s.
Affected Dishes (removed and will transferred to the correct post)
- Bacon Cheeseburger Poutinerie
- Roasted Tomato Soup
- Salmon Fish and Chips
- Grilled Steak
The buttermilk fried chicken is one of Lucky’s best sellers (sometimes they get sold out!). It was my first time to try it out and I’m still naive on how it differs from normal fried chicken. However, I have to say that I did enjoy it thanks to the yummy combination of chicken and gravy; (the crunchy juicy chicken meets the light and buttery flavored gravy).
Another bonus when eating rice meals at Lucky’s would be their delicious herbed rice which matches well with their offerings.
Till next time,
