Lunch at Lutong Macau

Lutong Macau

Lutong Macau

One Saturday morning, my parents and brother arrived here in Manila and we went out for lunch. Actually, I did not know where to bring them but I just thought of Jupiter Street in Makati. I called my sister and we had the same place in mind which was Lutong Macau so off we went there.

The first time I ate at Lutong Macau years ago, I remembered ordering and eating spinach soup so that was something that I had in mind that we should have in our table. While browsing through the menu, we were thinking of having one order of chicken, beef, pork and seafood to complete a set. After a brief discussion (because we were already hungry), here were our orders…

Lutong Macau Seafood Spinach Soup

This was my special request and I was very happy while eating this. My brother also liked it but due to the soup having shrimps, he couldn’t eat this due to the risk of allergies. Too bad for him but good for me as I ate his share. One thing that I did not expect from the soup was the presence of “sotanghon” noodles. I think they were not in the soup when I first tried it or maybe I just forgot?

My mother ordered this one. It is shrimp once again adding to my brother’s horror. Nothing extra ordinary on this one. :)

Lutong Macau Pata Tim

Lutong Macau Braised Pata Tim Lutong Macau Style – PHP 320

I picked this one for the sake of trying it out despite the expensive price it has. The pork was soft and tender that you can easily shred it but it was disappointing in the flavor. Actually, I did not know what to expect but this one tasted kind-of bland.

Lutong Macau Sizzling Beef Tenderloin in Chinese Style

We got curious when they said “Chinese Style” but it simply means that a sweet sauce will be used. The beef was also soft (not as soft as the Pata Tim though) but soft enough that you don’t need to put too much effort in slicing it. The taste of the beef was good and I actually liked the taste of the onions with sweet sauce.

Lutong Macau Fried Chicken Garlic

I forgot the name of this one so I just placed a generic name on it. This one is simply fried chicken coated with lots of fried garlic. No gravy, just garlic :)

Lutong Macau Special Fried Rice

I even have to feature their rice! LoL! Well, even their rice had shrimps so I really feel sorry for my brother because he had to carefully check to avoid eating shrimps here. I liked this as the rice was flavorful that you can eat it on its own. :)

So there you have it… From this experience, I believe we could have picked better dishes for our choices but since we did not bother to ask the waiter for their best sellers and specialties, we just picked whatever we thought would taste good.

Till next time,

Allen
