Lunch at Sizzling Pepper Steak
It was a busy Sunday because it is the last day of the SM Malls 3 day sale but I wasn’t done yet with the shopping. Anyway, we went to Glorietta 5 for a place to eat and I asked my parents which of the restaurants in the directory they haven’t eaten yet. When they mentioned Sizzling Pepper Steak and another restaurant that I forgot, I told them that we will eat at the Sizzling Pepper Steak! :)
I’m wondering… is this restaurant a different version than Pepper Lunch? or they are separate restaurants with “pepper” on their name?
There was no place anymore inside so we were seated outside where you will see a view of Glorietta 4 and SM Makati (our destination later). I noticed that Sizzling Pepper Steak has changed the way on how you can call the attention of their servers. There is a small stand on your table with two colored circles (Red and Green). Green means you need their attention while red means everything is ok. It reminds me of Brazil Brazil where the same would apply.
We studied the menu and once we were ready to order, the green circle was up!
Sizzling Pepper Steak Creamy Corn Soup – PHP 55
Sizzling Pepper Steak Eggdrop Soup – PHP 40
We started our lunch with soup. Soup is a good way to tame your hungry stomach while waiting for your main dishes. From both soups, I liked the Creamy Corn Soup better.
Sizzling Pepper Steak Chicken Pepper Rice – PHP 190
My first reaction was, why does it have a few pieces only? This doesn’t look like a good buy for its price even though the chicken tastes good.
Sizzling Pepper Steak Salmon Pepper Rice – PHP 270
Sizzling Salmon tastes good! What more can I say? :D
Sizzling Pepper Steak Rib Eye Steak – PHP 335 to PHP 470
I liked this steak although when it was first served to us, it was “medium rare” due to the weird rubbery texture and some blood on the inner parts of the meat. After we returned it to be cooked “well done”, the beef was soft and tasty (minus the juiciness).
Sizzling Pepper Steak Tenderloin Steak – PHP 355
As much as I liked the rib-eye steak, this one became a disappointment. I’m not sure if it wasn’t also cooked as “well-done” but it was also rubbery and there’s a lot of beef fat on it. In fact, I liked the beef pepper overload more than this. This isn’t how tenderloin should be like :(
Sizzling Pepper Steak Beef Pepper Rice Overload – PHP 295
This is my order and I’m glad I ordered this one. Generous servings of beef and the beef was soft enough that can be shred using your utensils easily. Yum Yum! :)
One thing you should know when eating here is that, you will have to “cook” your meal on the hot plate. So upon receiving your order, you should check your meal and then turn them over to cook the other side. After a few seconds, you can now mix everything in your rice and eat like a pig (just kidding). But you really need to mix them to avoid the rice from getting stuck on the hot plate. This means that if you want to take pictures, take them fast else you won’t be able to cook your meal properly. :)
