Maple Restaurant

Maple Restaurant

We recently had an adventure by visiting the old Maple tree just across that hill. Upon arriving, we were greeted with warm smiles and an offer we can’t resist, food for our hungry stomachs! We were asked to sit and was served bread while waiting…

Maple Glazed Roll

It was Maple’s warm glazed roll, with a light sweet syrup on top and butter on the side. Looks simply but here you can really appreciate how pandesal tastes better when served warm!

Maple Texas Wedge Salad

Maple Texas Wedge Salad P350
An Iceberg lettuce wedge, Pico de Gallo, crumbled bleu cheese, bacon bits, and creamy bleu cheese dressing.

Our first dish arrived and it was huge! It looked like that the lettuce was freshly plucked from a garden, drizzled with toppings and served! If this was their appetizer, I’m afraid to know how huge the main dishes would be.

Maple Banana Pecan Waffles

Maple Banana Pecan – P 335
Buttermilk pancakes or a think Belgian waffle topped with Caramelized then Flamed Bananas and maple-glazed pecans.

We also got waffle as part of our late breakfast/appetizer and I picked the one with Banana on it (also has nuts). Despite its size, it was a pleasure going through each quarter as the waffle was very soft (except for the crunchy edges).

Maple Blackened Chicken

Maple Blackened Chicken – P450
Chicken Breast with spicy Cajun Rub, grilled and served with creamed spinach, bacon and dirty rice.

Our favorite dish during our trip! Grilled chicken with creamy/crunchy spinach and rice (no idea why they call it dirty though). The cream would be the glue that holds all their flavors together in harmony. Popeye would be very proud!

Maple Prime Rib Tapa

Maple Prime Rib Tapa – P520
A traditional Filipino breakfast favorite is taken to new heights. A marinated Prime Rib served with garlic rice, two eggs prepared the way you like, tomato-onion salsa and atchara.

Move over tapsilog as the prime rib tapa is here! This prime rib is HUGE! The king stands on top of two eggs and rice; waiting for you to slice it up! It has the feel of a steak but tastes garlicky sweet. It was cooked medium for us but I wonder if it tastes better when cooked well-done (like how tapa gets cooked anyway). Now this will definitely come into mind when someone says, “let’s have a heavy breakfast!“.

Maple Apple Pie with Streusel Topping

Apple Pie with Streusel Topping P240
A light buttery pastry crust filled with Granny Smith and red Washington apples tossed in maple syrup, covered in a sweet and crunchy streusle topping and served with vanilla ice cream.

and for dessert, we had an apple pie! I would describe it as crunchy, cinnamon-y, sticky and a good way to cleanse your palate after the heavy meal.

Maple Country Iced Tea

Maple Country Iced Tea – PHP 105

For drinks, I had the Country Iced Tea (which tastes very similar to Max’s Restaurant’s Iced Tea and btw which I recently knew that they are now part of the same big restaurant group)

Maple Chocolate Milkshake

Maple Chocolate Milkshake – PHP 175

…while Jessa had the Chocolate Milkshake.

So that’s it for our Gastronomic tour of Maple’s Restaurant. On first glance, you would be surprised at the expensive prices but their menu items were meant to be shared due to their serving size. Still, don’t forget that this is a high-end dining place (e.g. high end version of pancake house) to set your expectations. Personally, the prime rib itself (which is one of their best sellers) already make any visit “sulit“.
