McDonald’s Big Mac

McDonald’s Big Mac

July 18, 2010

I was looking for something to eat as my dinner when I landed in McDonalds just across the street and I decided to continue my baconator quest by practicing eating big burgers. In McDo, I was at a loss on which on should I pick; McDo Big Mac or the Quarter Pounder, but in the end I picked the Big Mac due to it being taller (Baconator is also tall).

I ordered it and for the Big Mac value meal, it was around PHP130.00 although they were suggesting their Go-Medium thing which is a downgrade from the usual Go-Large thing fast food restaurants usually have. They said I will have to wait around five minutes for them to prepare it and it was ok for me as I was watching their advertisement of careers@McDo (staff, manager-trainee or restaurant manager). Among the three, the restaurant manager seems very nice as it has lots of compensations but it is similar to any company where the higher ups gets more bonuses than the lower-downs (lol), and let’s go back to our Big Mac Burger.

I ordered take out so that I could have enough time to take pictures of it even though I was already hungry. Good thing there was fries in there for me to nibble on while I’m taking pictures. So here is our Big Mac.

The Big Mac is composed of (trying to recall the layers)

  • Bun
  • Beef Patty
  • Lettuce
  • Pickles / Relish / Onions
  • Patty
  • Bun
  • Lettuce
  • Cheese Slice
  • Relish / Onions / Cheese Sauce?
  • Bun

Since it has three Buns, it is hard to control them all while eating. One bun may move forward when you bite while the other will move back. Sometimes, you get to eat the upper layer while the lower layer has moved back so you end up with a weird burger shape but never the less, I ate everything on the plate. It took me a while because I was watching a movie but I was able to finish it.

This is a good practice for the baconator but I had the feeling that I wasn’t that full after eating. Either my brain is just slow or really, it wasn’t enough for me. Oh well, we don’t usually eat a lot on dinner right? So there’s another step for my Baconator Quest.

Till next time,

Allen
