My Wingstop Experience
I’d like to share my Wingstop experience after trying them out twice (including their #WingItTuesdays promo).
Here in my blog, I have shared a few Wingstop Press Releases but it is only just recently I have tried eating at one. Wingstop has five main items on their menu which are batter-fried wings, classic wings, bonesless bites, tenders and drumsticks. If you are new to Wingstop then they will recover that you try either the batter-fried wings or the classic wings. They also have two rubs which would be the dry-rub or the sauced.
I asked about the difference and I was told that aside from having a “batter“; another difference would be where it came from. Batter-fried wings are sourced locally while classic wings are imported from the US. Well, let us see if there’s any noticeable difference in taste so let us eat both!
Note: Batter and Breading as used interchangeably in the menu but when I looked it up; these two are similar but different.
The classic wings were “thinner” because of it has nobreading. The flavors stick to the chicken skin and has a crisp texture. The chicken meat was lean; making me eat more to be satisfied.
On the other hand, we have the bigger wings thanks to the crunchy breading. The flavor also sticks the skin and had more meat. If I were to choose, I’d pick batter fried for now because I get to eat more even if most of it were just the breading.
We also tried their tenders which is their version of Chicken Chop. It was ok but a thicker chicken cut would have been better because the breading overpowers the chicken taste.
As of sides, we also had…
and lastly, on a different visit; we ordered their Tuesday Promotion called #WingItTuesdays.
To know more about this promo, please read about it here (WingItTuesdays). TL:DR version would be, every Tuesday, get 20pcs of batter fried wings for only PHP 499 instead of PHP 899.
Wingstop has fourteen (14) flavors for your chicken wing cravings but there was one thing that we noticed on all their dishes. It was salty and was very noticeable on the dry-rubs. The sauced versions were better though as it was more on the flavor that we tasted.
Overall, the experience was good but it won’t be something that I’ll be craving anytime soon (that 20 wings was a real challenge).
