Peri Peri Charcoal Chicken Dinner
Feb 9, 2011
While walking through SM Megamall one night, Mr Stomach was growling and that was our signal that we should eat to pacify the growling of the stomach. It’s hard to decide where to eat in a place as big as SM Megamall because there are really lots of restaurants waiting for you there but this particular restaurant caught our eye simply because, it looks new (first time I saw it) and well, we haven’t tried it yet.
So off we go to Peri-Peri Charcoal Chicken!
Peri Peri Chicken Macaroni Soup (PHP 30) / Lechen Flan (PHP 30)
This is a good way to start and end the meal (supposedly). I just have to complain that the soup was already cold when it got served so it didn’t deliver on its expected purpose of warming up our stomach (well that’s my expectation). The leche flan was so-so too. I guess these are not really their specialties.
Peri Peri Bolognese (PHP 95)
Yum Yum! (btw, what is the difference between Spaghetti and Bolognese or are they just the same ?) I liked this dish. Not only was it very flavorful but the serving size was big enough that you can already share it (well, I was able to consume it all so there goes my diet).
Peri Peri Chicken Arroz (PHP 155)
Rice + Chicken = Satisfaction. Another dish where the serving size is big enough for two persons. I said to myself, no rice please… but.. I wasn’t able to resist =(
Peri Peri 1/4 Chicken (Lemon and Garlic) (PHP 105)
I ordered only the chicken because I want to avoid eating rice (diet plan lol). I did order pasta to provide me with the carbohydrates I need. The chicken tasted different than the usual grilled chicken that I’m familiar with. You can taste some herbs and other flavors on it and the good thing is, you don’t need to dip it in gravy to enjoy the chicken because it is good as it is. I even ordered the breast part of the chicken because aside of it being more healthier (I think), it would also be a good test of taste because usually the breast part tastes bland compared to leg and thigh. However, I wasn’t disappointed with it. :)
The food here was great! I was really satisfied and I believe Mr stomach was also satisfied. Although, there was something that was missed in this Peri Peri experience and that is to try out their other sauces. We saw the sauce containers and were curious about them but due to laziness to stand up (or even just ask the waiters for some), it became something that will be tried in the future.
One thing I have to mention also is the serving time. A few minutes after giving our orders and suddenly, the food is already being served in front of us. Maybe they are already closing and they served us the leftovers? LoL Just kidding, but the serving time was really appreciated especially when you are already hungry.
Btw, they also have this promo where you just need to add PHP49 to get unlimited drinks and soup. ^_^
Till next time,
