Recipe Notes

!Beef In the supermarket, they already have a cut specific for Beef steak (Bistek); you may also go for breakfast steak. As long as they are thinly sliced, they would be ok.

!Note 2 My frying pan doesn't have a cover so I had to transfer the beef and garlic into a casserole to do the simmering. I usually simmer with the cover on.

It took me quite a few attempts to get past the rubbery feel of the beef and the secret to it; as I've learned would be to simply simmer it for long periods. In relation to beef steak or Bistek, my first few attempts had more of an adobo taste than what I expected. The solution to that was to add more calamansi (citrus) as I only used a few pieces on my previous marinating attempt.
