Chili’s Your Way with their New Dishes
What comes into mind when you hear about the restaurant called Chili’s? Me, that means unlimited nachos with salsa! Well, I’m about to learn more about Chili’s and their menu as I haven’t really explored it that much. For our visit today; we will learn about their new tagline “More Life Happens here” and in tandem, Chili’s launches their limited offering; Chili’s your way! So what exactly does it mean? Let’s find out through our meal.
We started with Skillet Queso. It is part of their regular menu and I really loved it! It was so creamy and cheesy that I got addicted fast! I can’t resist attacking it and I think I was able to finish half an order by myself… glad no one noticed. What made it better was when we were halfway through our meal; another order arrived!
Chili’s Your Way
Chili’s your way simply means choices. Aside from the different menu items available at this limited menu; you are given a choice on which two sides dishes you would like to go with your meal. Choices available would be home-style fries, corn-on-the-cob, Chili’s cilantro rice and fresh veggies to the staple steamed white rice, mashed potatoes and broccoli spears.
My personal picks would be Chili’s Cilantro rice as I’m a rice person and Broccoli Spears because I love broccoli!
For starters, we had their quesadilla bites. This is the first time I tried fried quesadilla but surprisingly, it was good! I loved the filling inside as it flows out with every crunch. Although it comes with a chipotle sour cream, I found it too spicy for me so I’m good with no dip.
But do leave space for the main courses such as…
Pick you preference between Chicken and Tilapia (Imported from US). It is like a mix of fried/grilled meat with a crunchy exterior and a soft interior in a wonderful blend of flavors. There’s a hint of spice but it was tolerable for me. I prefer the tilapia version over the chicken as chicken breast is generally tastes bland whereas the tilapia taste’s good when fried.
But if you really want to enjoy a glorious meal; get the bacon and cheddar steak. A thick cut of medium-cooked steak topped with melted cheese and bacon. It is like a burger without the buns. Better eat this as soon as it is served as it doesn’t taste good anymore when cold.
For dessert, we have the Banana Bread pudding topped with ice cream. Warm, moist and delicious! I would have wanted to eat more of this to end my meal but I had too much skillet queso that I forgot to make room for dessert.
So that’s it for our sumptuous meal at Chili’s! I’m definitely coming back for the Skillet Queso and the Bacon and Cheddar Steak (minus the time wasted taking pictures). Also, I’m also interested about their burgers which Chili’s are also famous for.
