Tāza Fresh Table by Taal Vista Hotel
Just outside of the main buildings of Taal Vista Hotel, one can visit the new restaurant called Tāza Fresh Table. Glass walls, open kitchen, nice ambiance and fresh comfort food; ingredients of a nice evening dinner with nature without the mosquitoes or other insects.
What can one expect from Tāza Fresh Table? As the name implies, you are assured that what you will be eaten would be fresh and locally produced. From the poultry, meat, fruits and vegetables; as long as they can be sourced locally then they will be used instead of importing the ingredients (a very nice way of support our local products).
This would be my first ever Zomato Foodie Meetup. It was time for dinner and we spent nearly four hours on it. A lot of food would be an understatement as dish after dish just kept on getting out of the kitchen. I was expecting around 5-8 dishes but we had around 20! So without further ado…
Tāza Fresh Table Food Parade
We had two which was the mushroom soup and the spinach soup; and I loved both! They literally had bits of their main ingredients which adds to the flavor (and something to chew own).
Oh how nostalgic it is to eat Alugbati once again! I have certainly missed it and was happy eating it in a different format. The taza salad was also great; it was a medley of different flavors and colors but mainly sweet.
Pancetta. Others don’t come close. Pancetta.
For the pasta, I’d go with the matalgiati as it had the right balance of flavor and creaminess. The ravioli managed to make me curious but that was it.
I would go with the seafood stew and Tomahawk here. Tomahawk simply because it was perfect! As for the seafood stew, it’s something that I could eat over and over again. The harmony of seafood in a rich paste can warm you up on any day!
Peanut Butter and Jelly Tart would be my personal favorite. It’s my favorite bread spread and despite something new in appearance, the favor was still spot on. The cannoli (which looked like turon with creamy filling) was also yummy especially the ube variant.
Whew! That was a lot! Can you imagine that we ate all of these for four hours?
If I were to go back, this would be my meal plan…
- Spinach Soup
- Alugbati Salad
- Tomahawk (if budget permits) else seafood stew
- Peanut Butter and Jelly Tart
Taza Fresh Table serves delicious dishes but be warned about the prices as they are expensive especially if only want a full stomach; but you will be paying for quality, experience and ambiance.
Disclosure: Our meal was sponsored by Zomato Foodie Meet-up
Till next time,
PS: first post that I tried with “larger” pictures. Let’s see how things go :)
