Uncle Tom’s Dinner
This is the continuation of the Iloilo Food Trip series and this took place after our La Paz batchoy at Deco’s.
When I was still a little boy, we would frequently eat at Grandma’s Fried Chicken Restaurant and one of my favorites would be an order of fried chicken skin. It would take me days to finish up one order even if I eat it twice a day. I was really glad to know that the same fried chicken aroma that I have been missing for a few years now can be found at Uncle Tom’s Restaurant.
Aside from fried chicken, they also serve steaks, pasta and other viands. Now let me show you what we ate here.
Uncle Tom’s Chicken Family Pack – PHP 325
This would be their specialty. It tastes better than your usual fried chicken and you should not miss this one if you drop by Uncle Tom’s. I just want to point out that their chicken sizes were small.
Uncle Tom’s Del Monte T-Bone Steak – PHP 465
It is very big! My craving for steak has been satisfied with this order but it would have been better if the steak was a bit more tender. It is not hard but with the thickness of the steak, you have to chew it very well.
Uncle Tom’s Tenderloin Steak – PHP 285
This is much more tender than the T-bone steak; hence the name right? In terms of flavor, this would also be better but I guess I just spent more time chewing than enjoying the T-Bone steak to really appreciate it.
Grilled Cream Dory – PHP 185
A healthy option with grilled fish and a pepper rich sauce. The dory had a light flavor and it gets strengthened by the sauce.
Hamburger Steak – PHP 185
Grilled Blue Marlin – PHP 265
Once again, we had our tummies filled (especially me after eating that big steak) and went home satisfied. Uncle Tom’s gave us a delicious and nostalgic dinner experience.
