Wendy’s Baconator

Wendy’s Baconator

Wendy's Baconator

I first mentioned about the Baconator way back in July 2010, Wendy’s Baconator Cravings, and after more than a year, I have finally eaten the Wendy’s Baconator. It was at the same Wendy’s branch where I ate the baconator’s little brother before. It was just an impulsive decision and gladly I had the appetite and the budget for it at that right moment.

Wendy’s Baconator Mushroom Cheese Melt – PHP 236

There were two available variants, the original one with ketchup and mayo or the mushroom cheese melt version. They were being sold at the same prize so I went for the Mushroom Cheese Melt. I remember that they had another variant before which contained Jalapenos (oh spicy).

So let’s examine how the Baconator was composed.

  • Bun
  • Patty
  • Slice of Cheese (melted)
  • Bacon
  • Slice of Cheese (melted)
  • Patty
  • Bun

It looks very sinful especially for those who are on a diet or who fears for their cholesterol levels as a burger such as this would contain lots of fat, high cholesterol and high amounts of sodium.

For the first bite, I could already taste the bacon (a bit salty) with the melted cheese. I could also feel the mushrooms but they don’t have any flavor. As for the patty, it had this grilled burger taste but the taste was being drowned by the bacon and the cheese. As I continued to eat the baconator, the more the patty gets negligible as the bacon was all over my taste buds. I guess the Wendy’s Baconator lives up to its name as the bacon was really the star of the show.

After finishing the baconator, I was full but somehow, I didn’t have that very satisfied feeling. I might have set my expectations very high for it and I also saw that they have smaller variants of the baconator as a much cheaper price.

The Wendy’s Baconator is for bacon lovers, period! If you simply want the mushroom melt, they have cheaper burgers that would appeal to you.

Till next time,

Allen
