Brotzeit Family Fun – Kinder Menu and Lunch Menu
Brotzeit has something new to offer especially for those like me who has categorized Brotzeit as a place for great German beer and sausages. They now offer a limited time only lunch special menu and kids menu (in partnership with Mega Bloks and Kinder Joy).
To be honest, I’m one of those that think of Brotzeit as a place to drink beer based on what I have heard but this will actually be my first time dining in here. Well, I started my visit with a halbe of beir (half liter) before I can even glanced at the food menu. They do offer a lot of food (like a feast) on their menu. You have your cheese and a lot of meat dishes such as beef, chicken, pork, sausages, ribs, steaks, lamb and many more! All of these would be great to pair with either wine or beer… oh my.. beer during lunch.. what’s going on!
Brotzeit New Lunch Specials
From March 9, 2017 to July 31, 2017, Brotzeit will now offer thirteen (13) dishes as part of their new lunch specials. Have your pick from burgers, sandwiches, rice meals, pasta, sausages and spaetzles. Allow me to show you some of the dishes that were served.
For those like me who can’t even pronounce the name properly, let’s just say that this is pork chop with mushroom gravy. It was love at first crunch.
Look at those generous portions of chicken breast on top of flat noodles. While the noodles itself doesn’t have much flavor, it serves to balance out as you slice through the chicken. Definitely a good choice if you want to eat healthy.
For those who want a complete meal in a single dish, you may want to give the Reisfleish a try. It has rice, pork tenderloin and vegetables all mixed in one dish. Definitely to share or for one hungry fellow.
The pork belly sandwich aims to tease you with generous servings of fat and pork meat in a sourdough bread.
The Brathhandl (roast chicken) looked the simplest among the dishes. It was rubbed with a different set of herbs and spices that separates it from your usual roast chicken. This is a safe order for those who doesn’t want to explore and just go with familiarity.
Lastly the burger boast a juicy patty, bacon and caramelized onions on a brezn (pretzel) bun. It was easy to slice and easy to finish. I hope they would have a bigger version for the burger lovers.
Brotzeit Kinder Menu
Brotzeit also launched their Kinder Menu which has five (5) dishes created to satisfy the young one’s taste buds. Each meal comes with a free Kinder Joy Treat (an egg that has chocolate on one side and a toy on the other side) and their own version of beer (iced tea). These are not limited only to the kids so adults can also indulge on them but might take more than one order to satisfy the appetites though.
In partnership with Mega Bloks, a small section of the restaurant has been designated as the play area for the kids to play around and build their own Mega Bloks creations. It also had a few other toys to keep the kids busy and they allow you to feed your kids there (else risk throwing tantrums if they get displaced from their place of joy).
The kid in me would go for the chicken nuggets and kinder fladen (flatbread). I mean, who doesn’t like chicken nuggets? On the other hand, the flatbread is like a pizza with a lot of cheese and sliced ham. It was definitely a safe way to introduce pizza to kids. The pancakes looked yummy especially with cream cheese glazed.
By launching a lunch meal for Dads and Moms and a Kinder Meal for the kids, Brotzeit erases my notion that it is just for good beer and not a family friendly place. It became the exact opposite! They now offer beer, meat and a lot of family fun!
Disclosure: Brotzeit paid for our meals.
