Ocean’s Harvest: Marriott Hotel Manila Buffet Actual
Now that we have discussed what Ocean’s Harvest at Marriott Hotel Manila has to offer, allow me to show you what we had on our plates. But before that, let me show you how they organize the orders.
On each table, there’s a fish bone that will serve as the holder for your numbers. Every time you have something cooked, the chef will give you a number and you just hang it in there. You can have as many pending orders as you want. So let’s start eating!
Sinigang na Salmon sa Miso
I broke one of the buffet rules when I started the buffet with my favorite soup. The soup tasted similar to a sour miso soup so it wasn’t your usual sinigang sa miso taste.
This was followed by a thick slice of roast beef which might have taken up 50% of my stomach capacity that night. Had it heated to “medium” and placed it on top of pepper gravy. Tender, juicy, flavorful… I nearly forgot I was here to try out seafood.
Butter Garlic Shrimps
A favorite order at Dampa. Ocean’s Harvest’s version didn’t disappoint because aside from the shell already removed, it really tasted fresh!
A recommendation by the head chef. Big crab in a sweet and spicy sauce. One of the dishes that tempted me to pair it with rice but I don’t want to break another buffet rule.
Grilled Scallops with Melted Cheese
I consider scallops as expensive seafood so I made sure I got a lot. It already tastes well on its own but to add cheese was a great idea.
Fish Steaks (Blue Marlin and Maya Maya)
Another dish swimming in butter. I had blue marlin and maya maya here and I preferred the Maya Maya as it was still juicy while the blue marlin dried up.
Sweet and Sour Lapu Lapu
Look at the presentation on this one! You can really appreciate the effort that has been given to each dish that they cook because they do not combine orders when cooking them and each has its own presentation.
Breaded Mussels, Baked Oysters, Stuffed Crab
I grabbed a few cooked dishes at the Grill and Baked station just to try out the breaded mussels, baked oysters and stuffed crab. Liked the stuffed crab best among the three.
A dish that was recommended to us simply because of the unique flavor and melts in your mouth feel. Don’t miss this one!
Although ready to eat, I had it grilled (despite the Chef’s warning that the meat might harden) because I was afraid to eat it cold. The meat did harden but nothing a good sauce can solve.
Juicy salmon with a mayo like dip. Perfect!
Still have room for more? How about dessert!
Had my fill of numerous shots of Buko Pandan! Yum Yum!
To our surprise, we didn’t know that 3 hours already passed and we were still busy ordering and eating. We really enjoyed the experience (especially the food and presentation) and I’d like to thank Marriott Manila for having us try out Ocean’s Harvest.
Disclosure: Marriott Manila paid for our meal.
Till next time,
